Keep in mind, if your gut is telling you something is wrong Bout my daily mixture, it probably is. To keep everything together I will update this too level comment with the latest formula. Curious to know your thoughts and if you tried it! Keep in mind unless stated otherwise the oil will be an essential oil. I don't currently have any Hedione or ISA E Super or any other aroma chems to add. This is only me posting my learning process to see who might be interested.

Day 1 (12th ever formula)
Base Notes:
Frankencence Fragrance Oil 6 drops
Vanilla 4 drops

Middle Notes:
Cinnamon 2 drops
Clary Sage 4 drops
Clove 2 drops
Rose 4 drops
Neroli 6 drops
Patchuli 4 drops
Black pepper oil 8 drops
Cypress 4 drops
Ginger 2 drops

Top notes:
Sweet Orange 4 drops
peppermint 4 drops
Tangerine 6 drops
Eucalyptus 4 drops

My own thoughts, smells like an older type of cologne from the 80's, the black pepper might be too much.

I also think that in the context of this particular group of perfumery enthusiasts, there are very few who will bother assembling & testing formulas based solely on natural botanicals containing no synthetic or purified aromachemicals at all. This is especially the case for this formula, which in addition to natural complex botanical extracts, lists as a major component frankincense fragrance oil, containing god-knows what.

The reasons for this include expectations that (1) without any aromachemicals this formula will perform weakly at best and (2) without using the exact same precise versions of the natural complex botanicals (and fragrance oil) you have used, any observations would likely be completely irrelevant to your own.

To see that this second issue is the case, all you have to do is look at the "Formula Quiz" thread on here. The superficially minor substitution of two different versions of Virginia cedarwood essential oils in that formula is the difference between a completely broken pile of shit & a decent well-performing perfume.

I totally get both points, I am unfortunately waiting until next month to order my first set of aromachems. The only reason the frankencense is a fragrance oil is because I made the mistake of ordering it before I knew there was crap like that out there. In review the scent smells decent but is missing something. I will wait until next month when I make something special to share with everyone. Thank you for the feedback

Once you post something worth critiquing, you will definitely get valuable feedback. BTW, even if you are using drops to measure your materials, please please please convert your formula to percents or parts per thousand...

Also worth mentioning that you should work with weight. The standard recommendation is to get a scale that reads down to 0.001g. Drops are inconsistent due to the density of different materials, temperature, variations in your pipette, among other factors.

Next, your vanilla can't be a real essential oil or CO2, because it is goopy/solid at 100%. If real, it must be diluted to some percentage to be able to use a dropper/ pipette, check to see if it is real, and what the percentage is.

And, by all means do not expect much feedback unless your formula is in percentages, and made by weight.
