I Got The Blues, but how many do I need?

As I come upon my first full year of the fragrance hobby (aka addiction), I decided it was a good time to take stock of my collection and figure out where it is lacking and where it is overstocked. I have a decent nose for my experience level, but unless I have two blue fragrances side-by-side, I have a pretty hard time picking out major differences.. And that is good, because if I could, I would need to buy more to get the tiny nuances.

Every time I watch a top 10 fragrance video on YouTube, or read a Basenotes review on a blue fragrance, I am tempted to go out and buy another blue, and there are so many of them. Lots of brands have multiple blue fragrances, each supposedly different. Miyake alone has 7 listed on Fragrancenet, there are at least that many Davidoff Cool Water clones, etc.

I currently have Versace Pour Homme, Versace Dylan Blue, Azzaro Aqua Verde, Bogart Story Blue, Montblanc Subtil, Missoni Pour Homme, Gianfranco Ferre L'Uomo and Nautica Voyage. Some of these might not technically be "blues", but they feel that way to me. I have tried BdC, Sauvage, Invictus and YSL Y and didn't love any of them. Am I covered in the "blue" territory, or is there something out there that is so different, but still blue, that I just have to have?

thanks

I am not a fan of "blue" perfumes, so I do indeed think that you are well covered.

If you want to go into niche, Histoires de Parfums has a line called This is not a blue bottle (all blue bottles, obviously), which, while remaining blue, may add some interest to the genre.

Bvlgari Blv.
Hugo Dark Blue.
though neither have that watery or marine vibe of many of the newer blue ones.

And there are heaps of older marine and watery scents which don't have Blue in their name e.g. Aramis New West, Kenzo Homme, Insense Ultramarine etc.

To the great recommendations already mentioned, also adding Hugh Parsons Blue.

Givenchy Insense Ultramarine - it doesn't get a lot of mentions but is a very unique, long lasting blue fragrance.

I don't think you *need* any blues, personally, but if you really like the style, you may want to at least sample the various versions of Bleu de Chanel. It inspired them all, and most consider it be the best iteration. I like the Parfum best.
