Help me choose a sample pack

I would appreciate some suggestions for sample packs please.

About six or seven years ago, I stepped back from buying fragrances. I had, and have plenty to choose from, and most generas are covered. There is not enough life in me to use what I have. But the itch has hit me again.

Last week, I stopped by Fumerie for the first time since covid. I, unfortunately, was wearing LIDGE at the time, which overpowered the dozens of scents I sampled. I did come home with a few little vials.

I want to explore a single house with a sample pack or coffret. I've considered Zoologist, Renia J and Imaginary Authors. What have I missed in the last number of years?

Wow! Akahina!!! A "face" I haven't seen in a LONG time. Hope you've been doing well. I've been on and off over the past couple of years as well.

Previously mentioned, Clandestine Laboratories is a good one in the indie realm. Phoenicia Perfumes, if you enjoy real oud used in perfumery.

All good suggestions. I will have to try Clandestine Labratories with two suggestions. That is a new one to me. Rogue is another I left off my initial idea list, and also a house I have never tried. I do have Real Oud Feral and another from Phoenicia since I love oud. Musicology is also new to me Hednic, and your suggestion is very much appreciated.

Yeah, I've gone through some life changes and have (kinda) retired. It's nice to be back, but especially nice to hear from some old friends. CHEERS!

Apart from the many great recommendations already mentioned, also adding sample sets from/focusing on the houses of Memo Paris, Xerjoff and/or Jovoy.

If you're considering Zoologist give Olympic Orchids a try. Kind of in the neighborhood but perhaps a little less mainstream.....

I second the Akro sampler. Love everything but Night and Haze, and my wife went for Haze. I’m not into gourmands ordinarily. Now I want to try Ink and Bake.

I haven't really liked any of the house-branded discovery sets that I've purchased over the past year: most of them have one or standouts, like the Amouage discovery sets, and the rest, well...at least they can help steer you away from some awful blind buys. At least some of the houses, like Hermes, let you pick your own from a decent list.

I typically just pick a theme or house that I'd like to explore, go to one of the sample sites, and make my own discovery set from my own wants and others' recommendations.

I enjoyed going through the Affinessence discovery set, which is decently priced given how expensive the fragrances are. Even if I didn't find many of them full bottle worthy, I like most of them enough to want to wear them some more. Since they are all base notes, at the least they could be good layering fragrances to play with if you don't otherwise like them (although I'm not a layerer myself).

Lorenzo Villoresi is an old line that seems to be trending suddenly and their sampler is a great deal. If you're in the U.S. you can order it online from New London Pharmacy.
