Gasoline and diesel smell in oud

Greetings Oud Lovers.

Having a thread to ask a question regarding oud with petroleum or diesel smell.
I remember a few years ago i smelled one and thought i am not into it.
I am a different person today and now interested in getting some for my blends.

What would be responsible for the petroleum like smell, which regions would be 'common' to produce oils like that and finally - what is on the market currently that smells like fuel?

Old school Malaysians and Old style Indonesians can have that scent but it’s ultimately a result of the oils in the wood and how it’s distilled.

Green Silani from Mr. Ali is a straight up fumey Gyrinops walla patta but not all walla pattas will have that smell.

Ghazal from Habzoud is a Malaysian from Habzoud that fumey diesel smell

Tigerwood Royale/Tigerwood 90’ both have that same fumey opening

Borneo Diesel from Ensar also has a strong diesel smell.

Some meraukes have it as well. Same with Borneo’s.

Purbakala from Agarwood Aura has a strong diesel note in the opening
