I’ve been looking for a “fresh” scent that’s modern and refreshing, beyond the classic barber shop scent, classic eau de cologne and classic fougeres but nothing too heavy, and nothing musky or with a chemical after scent for lack of a better term that I thought some of the blue colognes out there have. I’ve been looking at citrus of course, but also at fruity and gentle floral masculine scents. The lady dislikes any hint of sharpness in a fresh perfume, and thumbed down Creed Aventus, Acqui di Parma Colonia, Xerjoff Torino 21, and a few other likely fresh candidates. The only one that passed was Dior Cologne Royale (I don't like a spicy note in the "competitor" Chanel Eau de Cologne), but that's such a simple scent it's hard to dislike, and she likes but doesn't love that. (She also dislikes strong notes of spice, smoke, incense and too much floral.)
I was thinking of:
- Terenzi Orion - opens with a very bright, sweet pineapple note that settles into a fruity woody fresh scent
- Roja Elysium Parfum - opens with a strong (even syrupy) but not overpowering grapefruit and lemon then settles into a very slightly musky vanilla
- PDM Sedley - opens with a very sweet but light and fresh orange, grapefruit, lemon and just a little mint and settles down into a gentle woody scent, this caught me more than Leyton and the apple opening that receives more discussion
Any comment on comparing these three, and any others along these lines?
