Hello :)
I hope everyone doing well

l am looking for scents that match hikings outfits

I live in Norway and the winters here are incredibly cold and difficult. Therefore, we tend to wear clothes suitable for this type of weather, such as heavy mountain leather boots and shell jackets on a daily basis.

Unfortunately, leather gloves, Chelsea boots, and oxford shirts do not work in such an atmosphere.

I couldn't find suitable perfumes for this type of outfit. Most perfumes are made to suit fashion clothes. So I would like to ask you if you can give me suggestions for fragrances that are suitable for outdoor sportswear.

Last year, I asked you for suggestions for perfumes suitable for the professional artist, and I liked them very much, but I wear them especially for visits to museums and artistic events. What I want now is a scent for everyday use.

Most of the colors that I wear are dark blue and black because they compliment my skin tone very well.

Please keep it subtle and airy. I don't like to wear heavy scents

Greetings

Frederic Malle Outrageous. I'm from a place that's hot, and don't get along too well with the cold, so I prefer nice bright scents in the winter. That, along with the brighter color schemes of winter wear make Outrageous a wonderful choice.

I like to wear violet in our cold Wisconsin weather. It’s sharp enough to cut through the cold, but not overbearing. The note evokes a sense of frost or ice. A few every-day, violet-forward fragrances that come to mind:

Dior Fahrenheit - Perhaps not ideal for active winter sports (skiing, for instance), but I find it incredibly versatile, especially if we’re talking moderate activity, like hiking (leather boots!). One of the flankers might be more appropriate (Fahrenheit 32 comes to mind), but you may have trouble finding them at reasonable prices. Adjust sprays down to achieve the desired effect.

Amouage Portrayal Man - It wears much lighter than Fahrenheit, and I find the base a bit more classically-styled. Take a look at the bottle design. I think it evokes the character of the fragrance quite well.

Creed Green Irish Tweed - Like the above, I think some will consider this too “dressed up” for something like hiking, but it’s a pretty effortless fragrance. It’s not a personal favorite, but it’s highly regarded as an all-around fragrance for a reason. With the house’s signature ambergris accord, other less subjectively “formal” Creeds might do equally as well (Silver Mountain Water and Himalaya, in particular).

Narciso Rodriguez for Him - I’m not as familiar with this one, but it deserves a mention. If your hiking will take you to more rocky places (or anywhere more urban), the fragrance’s petrichor note might serve you well. It’s unique without losing its versatility.

Finally, one additional suggestion that’s not violet forward: Malle’s L’eau d’Hiver. It’s very transparent on my skin, so perhaps won’t work the best under layers of clothing, but if subtle and airy are what you’re after, it fits the bill. The name translates roughly to “winter water”.

Thanks for your suggestion

I really like the Creed perfumes that you mentioned, but they really smell very formal to me and I don't like to dress up.

You mentioned Malle’s L’eau d’Hiver and I think it is created by Jean-Claude Ellena. I am really more into subtle airy and transparent fragrances. I read one of the topics about it here and I would like to bring it up again in a separate topic.
