Too old for what? What is the goal? To please everyone or to be yourself and find people who love you for who you are?
If you're at work or a job interview, or maybe some formal event, I'd dress conservatively. But otherwise, wear whatever you want.
Also, what people mean by terms like emo and goth can vary. Some people just use the term loosely to mean wearing black clothes/eyeliner, etc. or maybe a t-shirt with a rock band on it. But some would define it more narrowly and want to stay faithful to specific subcultures. Two people can dress the way they think is emo, and both people could look totally different.

The freedom we have the choices we make the sacrifices we pay make life so complicated.

You can pull it off as long as you like it. I go to a lot of concerts in LA and I see plenty of women (and men) dressing and doing themselves up as they always have. No reason to be embarrassed. My question is, how old is too old? I feel like I can pull this off for maybe another 5 years. Can I do this when I’m 50? Will I even want to? At what age would you say this particular look would be ridiculous, or embarrassing? (If you say “any age”, I’m ready for you 😆)
Kim Gordon (70) of Sonic Youth) and Siouxsie Sioux (66) still do themselves up like they always have (though Siouxsie wears less black) , and look fantastic.

This is fantastic! Not emo, but still pretty cool.
My boys loved this, especially my youngest (his nickname is Spooky Lukey, after all) - we spotted this truck on the road:
This is fantastic!
I have an It mask at home that I have not mustered the nerve to wear yet. It's very well done, and makes everyone do a double take...![]()
You should definitely break it out this October!! Make sure you take photos 😁
Luke is a huuuge fan of Halloween, since he was a toddler - 365 days a year. He has an August birthday, but requests a Halloween theme every single time 🎃
He’s not allowed to watch the actual movies yet, but he’s a huge fan “of the aesthetic” (his words, lol). His recent obsession is animatronics, and so we try to hit as many Spirit Halloween stores as we can starting at the end of July (!), through October.
These (2018) animatronics are in a league of their own, though: (TW: horror, gore)
I'd love to get me some of these!
My décor style is what I call "serial killer chic."
I missed the pics you posted, but from looking at your avatar picture, which I know is you I will say that most women would love to look like you do. So, just be you...![]()
