DHS 08 vs. Current DH Cologne

So, I have sellers regret - got rid of DHS 08, now it's warm out - I'm feeling that it would have been a staple. From reading about a bit - some have said DH Cologne current is pretty similar, with the ginger dialled down a little. I'm to go peruse me thinks - getting that bug for a no-brainer throw it on summer cologne.

Or maybe an alternative -
Burberry Sport - hard to find
Burberry Sport Ice - any experiences with this?
Jimmy Choo Man ICE ?
Adolfo Agua Fresca Cedre?
Mercedes Benz Cologne....

I'm easy with budget recommendations too....

Can’t think of anything similar between DHC 2022 and DHS 2008 apart from they’re (1) both from Dior and (2) marketed toward men)).
However, Choo Man Ice and DHC are similar enough to consider the former as a budget substitute for the latter.

To me, DHS felt more masculine/sporty in a modern way, while DH cologne is more citrusy and natural smelling. I much prefer the current cologne, but since it's not a perfect substitute, you should smell before you buy.

So I tried Choo man Ice, reminded straight away of DHS 08, though now an hr later it doesn't seem to develop much.

The store didn't have a tester for DH cologne, though the assistant smelled my wrist with Choo man Ice and said it's similar.

Got a spray of current DHS. Keep getting wiffs, interesting, but not as natural. Some notes are juddering, and now I see similarity as it dries down with Issey OG ( lol not a fan!)

Much to think about!

DHS 2008 smelled quite different from DH cologne if I recalled.

I'd add Eau de Rochas Pour Homme for trying.

As a rather belated reply, recommending to get and possibly to previously (re) test either DHC and/or Burberry Sport as well as Adolfo Agua Fresca Cedre.
Having said this, would nevertheless also recommend looking up (and/or if possible to re-test) any formulations of DHS you can get access to, since this fragrance remains wonderful as standalone choice in its own right, ideally if available from trusted retailers.

Initially overwhelmed by the current DHS, seemed like a generous sprayer, 1 spray to the wrist, lasted through multiple washings and quite moreish!

Lol as is the way with such an unruly collection, I found Racquets and that might be me sorted for summer! Had all but forgot the lovely cologne-esque opening, like a cologne on steroids and zero floral which is a bit of a deal breaker.

GIT is delivering today though. I'm thinking why complicate it for myself!!

Hope everyone is finding is easy to get their summer rotations sorted. Admittedly I'm awkward about summer. Being British and not experiencing sun/heat very often, find it difficult to even dress for the heat haha!

Side note!
After GIT the other day, I started thinking again about Cool Water and alternatives.

Warm again and fancied something with some bite. Carven L'eau intense yesterday. Less GIT like then I dreamed up!
More gingery than I recalled.

Quite good!
