Hi all,

Welly welly well, my very first ever order (and most likely my LAST order) which I had placed with JOMASHOP (a couple of weeks or so ago) turned out to be a complete BUST! Ugggh. I guess really deep down in my Heart/Guts, I knew the price was "too good to be true" and that this Fragrance would ACTUALLY be in stock/available to ship.
I am speaking of my recently placed order of Christian Dior "Eau Sauvage Parfume". What really Bugs me is, despite my order being accepted, despite my having received an Email confirming the order, only today did I receive the following:

We regret to inform you that the item(s) you ordered are no longer available and your order has been cancelled.
Order#: MXXXXXXX placed on Jomashop
Item number(s): Christian Dior Mens Eau Sauvage EDP Spray 3.4 oz (100 ml)

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused and would like to provide you with a $5 coupon off your next order which cannot be combined with any other coupons or promotions, limit one coupon per order.
Coupon Code: CANC5MP435V9

I don't know, I just find this type of Business practice UNacceptable. I mean, in today's modern Tech World, how is it that a Business doesn't know what is (or isn't) in stock ?

I've ordered from them a few times with no issues. Shipping was always prompt. Prices were great.

One time I did have an issue... I ordered a tester and it was pictured with a cap, it arrived without a cap and was leaking due to poor packaging, they allowed a return and processed it quickly.

I'd order from them again if the price was right. Sorry you had an issue, but I'm not sure that means they are untrustworthy or totally incompetent. Due to your issue and the way they shipped my tester they may be partially incompetent, but they did handle it well, allowing my return and giving you a coupon.

Sorry to hear it, SixCats. Jomashop has been okay for me on frags, but last time I bought one from them was about 18 months ago.

I've had it happen with Fragrancenet too. If you buy retail this doesn't happen as often.

Sorry this happened to you. This is the reason I always buy retail.
I've begun to come around to this perspective. My last few purchases have been retail precisely because I knew what I was getting, and because the savings on a 50mL or 100mL perfume over the life of the bottle generally only comes out to a few pennies per wearing when buying from discounters. I have bought too many bottles to count from discounters over the years, and I've had a few disappointing experiences and a couple of outright disasters (one place in particular that famously doesn't package bottles properly). Buying a couple of Chanels at retail a year or two back and realizing what a stress-free experience it was helped me turn the corner...for the most part (a good deal is still hard for me to pass up, but I do my best).

I've had great purchases with them in watches.

I have bought one or two fragrances and they did come through okay. But the processing and shipping on the fragrances was very slow.

Jomashop did the exact same thing to me last month. Found a tester frag I wanted at a good price, paid, and got confirmation, then they canceled my order after a few days saying it wasn't available. Same useless $5 coupon that doesn't even cover shipping. The same scent is still available in a non-tester but for a higher price. They should have made it right and sent me the non-tester. I didn't screw up, they did.

And that's after I ordered another scent from them the previous month that they took a month to fulfill/ship.

Hi speed,

Sorry to hear you had this same experience as I with Jomashop. I know basically nothing when it comes to money/card transactions however, I can't help but wonder if Businesses who operate this way make money in the process ? This is to say, my Bank Personal Account WAS in fact charged for the price of the Eau Sauvage. It was later cancelled. So, does this mean Jomashop receives my payment (and perhaps thousand others) and somehow uses these monies (if even for a week or two) to make (invest short term) before crediting ones account ?

NOTE what Jomashop claims:

Please be advised that "WE DO NOT CHARGE YOUR CREDIT CARD UNTIL THE ORDER SHIPS".
When an order is placed the amount is held as a pending authorization on your account which is voided upon cancellation and normally released within 2-4 business days.

Ooh really ? "We DO NOT charge your credit card until the order ships". Pray tell Jomashop, why was there a Charge for $110.00 on my Bank Card ?

I just don't get it.

Ugh, sorry to hear that. If you're still looking for a replacement source, I know Fragrancebuy.ca has 50 ml bottles in stock for ~77 + shipping. (You can get around shipping if you buy 5 bottles or get a coupon through their loyalty program; otherwise it's about $12 shipped to the US.)

Actually, probably better off going through Fragrancenet: https://www.fragrancenet.com/cologne/christian-dior/eau-sauvage-parfum/eau-de-parfum#301620
Thank you Toxicon,

I very much appreciate your kind words and the information you provided. Thanks again.

If the item is not "in stock ready to ship" or whatever their way of saying that is, I don't order because I know it will take forever.

I have successfully ordered fragrance and sunglasses both described as above and received both promptly.

In other cases I have waited weeks and cancelled.

Hi all,

UPDATE!

Per Toxicon most wonderful suggestion, I stopped back in at Fragrancenet. Much to my surprise, Fragrancenet had LARGE 3.4 oz. bottles of Christian Dior "Eau Sauvage Parfum" for sale at a good price!

The last time I had checked, I don't recall seeing the 3.4 oz. bottle being offered for sale, only the smaller bottle which is why is searched elsewhere (and found Jomashop). While the sales price is a bit more at Fragance Net than Jomashop..... (well, I guess that's a moot point now).

At any rate, I once again placed an order that was confirmed. Shortly thereafter, I received an Email confirmation. I can now only hope (that the second time around) Fragrance Net will come through with the Dior. Ooh, of interest, the "Eau Sauvage Parfum" page on Fragrance Net showed the count down ticker thingy displaying: "Hurry, only 17 bottles bottles remain". That is to say, when I first placed my order, the "count down ticker" said "only 17 bottles remain" however, by the time I (quickly) had entered my Credit Card information and then hit the "go" button, the "ticker" read "Hurry, only nine bottles remain".

Whoa! If this "count down ticker" is accurate, these Dior must be selling out fast! Well, we shall see this time.

I’ve stayed away from the discounters lately, unless it‘s a good enough deal to roll the dice on a potential hassle. I recently ordered Lui off of Fnet and they sent Liu. I completely see where that would be an easy mistake for any online retailer to make. The Liu was great- just not what I ordered. So I sent it back. But if I had gotten Lui for $116 I would have been over the moon.
Sorry you’re having to deal with that.

Ooh, thank you CeeTee. Oh yes, I can see that would had been a very easy mistake to make on the part of Fnet. I'm glad you were able to have the mix up straighten out to your satisfaction.

Bummer. I wonder if they were trying to drop ship through another distributor and they couldn't find you a bottle?

I've had plenty of experiences with FragranceNet net sending me what was pictured. I wonder if their fulfillment is manual versus automated?
