Thank you CS, I was just writing

How am I coming across spitey (not sure thats actually a word, but hey) and malicious?? I'm politely giving valid criticisms that other posters are agreeing with?!? Have you noticed that everybody here is quoting YOUR posts, Mr 98Viper, to continue to explain OUR very valid points about censorship on the EO page?

Yes I think its unfair that I was banned for politely posting my opinion - unknowingly breaking an unwritten rule against anything other than gushing reviews. And yes, I also don't like being censored. I live in a free country with freedom of speech and having my honest opinion censored rubs me the wrong way - for all the reasons that I and Mak and FragSyndrome, and CastingShadows have articulated here

I'm not sure what else to tell you. I don't own the page, and I don't admin the page. Neither do any of you. Neither you, or I, dictate what happens on a page that doesn't belong to us. There are other options. Start your own page. Move on. It is what it is

It's not "what it is". It's a company campaign that can be changed. They've listened to community feedback from basenotes in the past and made many positive changes to the way they did business and gave their fans what they've asked for. So now I, and others are asking Ensar to do the right thing and stop censoring content on their FB page and to stop banning people that post their honest feedback when it it's overwhelmingly positive. We're asking them to change this policy because it is the right thing to do. Accepting critical feedback on their FB page openly, with grace and an open mind is going to be a good thing for their brand - more so than fooling 1900+ people on that group into thinking that every single ensar release is a 10/10 masterpiece and Ensar can do no wrong.

Here's an idea for Ensar Oud: Go pin a poll to your FB Group and ask your "Fans of Ensar" members if they want to allow Neutral and Negative feedback and reviews on this FB Group.
Then lets pin a second poll asking your members: "Should members that post neutral or negative feedback / reviews be banned from the group?".

Any idea on what the responses are going to be like? Any guesses?

"We're" seems to be like 3 or 4 of you. I highly doubt the vast majority cares. Sound like now it's about getting your own way more than anything else 🙄

The vast majority (on BN) are just watching this shit-show in amusement. You really think the FB group members don't care? That's some really poor perception of human nature. If Ensar would pin a poll to that group you'll see for yourself that people do care about having dissenting opinions suppressed with bans handed out.

The phenomenon of fanboism that we see on facebook is not unique to only Fans of Ensar Oud, I think certain fans are just having a tunnel vision and are overenthusiastic with the product they love and adore dearly, I have a feeling that the majority of fans over there would frown upon seeing negative reviews on something that they love passionately, especially when you can see clearly certain fans would go as far as saying something like..... they love the musk so much they want to drink it, or they want to kiss the hand or feet of the creator. You see the same type of enthusiastic behavior time and again in a lot of music concerts too, fans would jump for joy, scream, cry, and completely loses their shit when they saw their favorite musician come on stage to perform for them.

You can test the theory by going to a car enthusiast forum, somewhere like the Ford Mustang forum for example, post a harsh negative review or comment about the Mustang in a Ford mustang forum would most likely get roasted by the forum members over there, and then get kicked out or banned by the admin. The same outcome would happen if you go to Chevy Camaro or Corvette forum, some admins are more lenient than others, you might not get banned outright but the same reaction from fans is still going to happen, to be rejected, or outright being called a troll by a certain individual.

Fan page, by definition, is not meant to be one-size-fit-all, knowing that upfront, personally I just try to approach things differently in a more delicate manner. Sure, some positive reviews from such platforms would come off as sugar-coating and almost unreal, but can you blame them? scent is subjective anyway right? After taking a whiff of certain perfume or oud oils, some people get a mind-buzz, maybe some would even start seeing unicorn and rainbow raining down champagnes....

No, I'm not for it, don't support it, nor condone it, but it's not something new, certain things would never change, they never did in the past, nor would they ever change in the future, it's just human nature. With that said, even reviews from here, youtube, parfumo, or fragrantica, don't we still often find that we do not align with, agree on, or feel the same way about a lot of fragrances as the reviewers too? for the simple fact that scent is always subjective, right?

Do you think that all of the members of the "Fans of Ensar" group know that the content they see is being controlled so that they only see positive feedback and that anyone who has posted negative reviews or feedback in the past was banned? 1900+ people is a lot of people to be deceiving IMO. Seems like a pretty straight forward case of "they shouldn't do that".

There are many more pages for reviews of Ensars fragrances/attars, and many other indie/artisanal brands that are frequented by the vast majority of the members from Fans of Ensar. I'd wager most people looking to drop big money on fragrances do their due diligence, and hunt out any and all information available, and are aware of these pages. Somebody has to be the first to buy, and most people know who to look to for honest opinions. Fans of Ensar isn't the end all/be all for everything EO, and nor does it need to be. It's generally a very friendly environment. Start bringing in unnecessary negative/neutral reviews, and we'll find ourselves subjectively arguing, as we seem to be doing here

It's good to have your opinion on this matter. It is hard for me to wrap my head around it but I think I've finally managed to do it. If only those 1900+ people in the Ensar group could take a poll on this - what would be the harm? Maybe they all feel the same way as you do.

I think a lot of them thrive in an environment like that, it is their "happy" place to be, even knowing full well, and deep down, that it could be biased. I think the majority are aware of it, while some are afraid to say anything about it, while others simply don't care enough to mention anything so they just roll with it. How could they be deceived, if it was something that they wanted to begin with? I highly doubt there's any deception going on at all, most definitely not on purpose.

When i saw a bunch of raving reviews over there for product A for instance, I then went and spend hundred if not thousand of dollar for it, then I came to realize it is not what it seem to be after getting it, well....was i being deceived then? it would certainly feel that way wouldn't it? Don't forget the same fragrance could react differently depending on skin chemistry, perception, even the weather. Sure, it's not a good feeling, almost like being duped, but wouldn't I get the same outcome if I were to base my purchase solely on the rave reviews from anywhere else, like youtube for instsance?

I'm not against a poll, if that's what the members want, nor am I trying to be right in this conversation that we're having. I just personally see it doing more harm than good to have those types of reviews on the page. Again, and as everybody already knows, taste is subjective when it comes to these fragrances. If for instance somebody leaves a negative or neutral review on the page, and they're in the minority, then they run the risk of arguments, etc etc. And I don't think that's the place for it personally. Just my opinion. I'd rather not see such a tight knit community go down that rabbit hole, considering they're very few and far between. Way too many toxic fragrance pages/forums. I'm sure you can agree with me on that

After trying EO3 at the NYC OudFest, I was determined to get my hands on a bottle. Having only purchased 9.5ml testers of the original EO1 and EO2, I regretted not getting full bottles and promised myself I wouldn't make the same mistake again. A fellow traveler here had a bottle for sale and I picked it up. I love it. It may be my favorite Ensar Oud perfume. Right now it feels that way.

I began my perfume journey with an obsession with rose. My first "niche" perfume was a small bottle of Le Labo's Rose 31, which I purchased from the first store in Nolita, not long after the brand launched. That purchase preceded my first trip to India and Mumbai, where I was introduced to oud in the small streets of Colaba via the various vendors there, both big and small. I treasured that tiny bottle of Le Labo and my first pitch-black Dehn Al Oud, which today seem almost (but not quite) trite.

EO3 has returned me to the best parts of those memories, of experiencing rose and oud and other scents familiar and exotic. I stopped wearing Rose 31 a while ago and this is the first rose perfume I've purchased since. It is enthralling. Simple, yet blooming and complex, at the same time. I sense pepper, musk, a creamy woodiness, and a rose accord unlike any other, and yet decidedly ROSE. I don't know if it is the Taif, but this rose is exotic to me. It is also masculine with a feminine flair. Or vice versa. The longevity is wonderful. I sprayed some last night and awoke this morning in a bed of delicate rose, with the low growling oud/musk in the far drydown making their appearance.

This perfume will age beautifully and I will want more of it. I'm already saddened that it won't last forever.

I'm glad you love the EO3, the rose note from EO3 behaves differently to my skin chemistry, in comparison to Sultan Red Rose, the EO3 came off more citrusy while the SRR is more like the traditional rose petals that I'm familiar with. I like both versions of rose notes.

Have you try EO1 Assam? that stuff is awesome as well, get a small sample or decant if you haven't, I think you would really enjoy it! There are still a few other new releases that I want to try first, later down the road I would definitely want to get a 50ml of that EO1 Assam, the Assam version is fire!

For any testimonials we have been adding for at least the past several months we have been posting only publicly-listed usernames (not real names). You can see this as an example where we added several reviews from IG, using their username, except in the case of the first review where "mightysandalwood” actually posts his name publicly on his IG profile:

Rest assured, we don't track such things. I personally don't know your name or the other two that you named. Perhaps Ensar and the early team does from experience but we don't and I don't think it's my business to try to seek it out.

If you think this trust was violated on any page please let me know and I'll resolve it.
Didn't even realize my review was up on the website, haha that is really cool. I was wandering where those followers were coming from LOL.

I haven't had a chance to try EO1 Assam. I only tried the original from 2019 when I purchased a 9.5ml tester. I still have about 1ml left that I cherish and am afraid to spray. I take whiffs here and there. I did own a 50ml bottle of the EDP and stupidly sold it. I regret that.

Anywho, I'm sure one day they will release another flanker of their first spray perfume. I just hope it retains the strong, spicy and smoky quality of the first version. Who knows though, perhaps I would like the later versions even more. When I have a little money I will look for a stray bottle of EO1.

Out of curiosity, do you get from EO3 any Aoud from Roja Dove vibes (specifically from the richness of the rose notes)? I own a FB of both and I find a lot of similarities in the opening 1hr . (No similarity in the mid or dry down - where, for EO3 the natural musk comes to the forefront).

The fact that this scent won a coveted series "No." nomenclature imeans that it will certainly make a reappearance. Perhaps with tweaks (professionally referred to as "upgrades," but we admittedly read here that this assertion is debatable when scents transition from their beloved OG versions :) So depending on how wed you are to this exact iteration, I imagine that a rose-centered pure parfum with the No. 3 name will be part of "the house of Ensar" for years to come.

Hello, Any honest Review about The Qi Nan?
The sounds on Ensar FB page is like Eo green. Thanks
Everyone who has tried it, is loving it so far, it looks like a killer release. Ryan on FB went live last night on it, he covered a lot of ground in regards to the Qi Nan, pitch black juice but it doesn't smell as dark as it look, the consensus is that the Qi Nan is a great reconstruction of Kinam grade Oud profile, menthol and minty the whole way through with that cypress kick to it. Musks and Floral notes are not the main player here, from what I've read and heard, Qi Nan sounds like an Oud soliflore, all reviewers have said it is very potent with great performance too.

A page back someone also posted feedback of it:

Just want to clarify, unless we are taken to court to do so, we don't give out people's info without their express persmission first. i.e if I haven't contacted you and said "can I give your info to X", and you say "yeah" then it won't happen.
Congrats on the website redesign btw, Great job!
