Anymore has tried Emperor Hind? Curious to know if it is skanky or not, and if yes, is it "Dior Leather Oud" skanky, or much less than that.

It’s not skanky at all. It’s a beautiful leathery floral with some nice citrus up top. Quality Oud isn’t typically skanky. There’s musk but it’s so elegant it flows with everything really well. It’s a versatile and wearable fragrance with all natural ingredients. To my nose, if you want skanky pick up Hindi Tabac from Zakir. It’s a tobacco, ambergris, Oud combo in attar form and it’s brilliantly animalic.

by the way there is only one bottle left in their etsy store

They also sell through their main website for Dixit and Zak perfumes. AgarAssam is just the platform that Zak sells his attars and ouds through. Also Zikander on Instagram is a retailer for them as well. I think you can buy their perfumes through three different places.

They posted on instagram a couple of days ago that there are only a few bottles of Emperor Hind left. Also, they announced that the last few bottles of Rising Mysore are available through a couple of stores on their stocklist and they have discontinued Brindaban. I’m glad I grabbed these when I did.

They have announced new releases to come in early summer.

Just got my sample of Emperor Hind. I plan on wearing this at least a couple of times before sharing some real thoughts; However, on an initial spray it comes off as a great masculine oud and leather focused fragrance

Get ready for more competition in getting bottles when they release with all the publicity and people posting to Reddit.

What’s wrong with wishing success and fortune to artists you support? Why keep something a secret just because of scarcity? I say good for them and I wish every bit of massive success they deserve.

Look at ALD and people snagging 10 bottles at a time to keep one and resell the others for 5x the original cost. It gets kinda lame.

That to me is because of the scarcity marketing that everyone becomes a sucker for. Ensar doesn’t have this problem and neither does a lot of natural indie perfumers. It’s when the fragrance is being marketed as rare is what drives scalping and it’s only with Areej and slumberhouse do you see the most of this happening. Even Josh keeps telling everyone don’t worry there’s gonna be more. If you don’t fall for that kind of tactic there’s nothing but love when something sells out. There’s so many perfumes I want to try that being bummed about one selling out is the least of my worries.

Well if they only make a handful of bottles like you claim, posting all over different forums is only going to make it that much harder to get and you'll have those few that'll grab multiples to capitalize on the short supply.

There’s always more perfume in the world to consume. I don’t get fomo because these perfumers like ALD, Bortnikoff, Josh Lobb, Zak and Dixit are only going to get better and they’re going to put out hundreds more over the course of my life. I’m not too worried if I can’t get my hands on every single release.

Rising Mysore- as described by others, barbershop with a twist. Very nicely done. Nice bottle size, so I can be generous with the application. Longevity isn't great, about 4-5 hours.

Will describe the others as I sample them.

Enjoying this house!

I put on four sprays of Emperor Hind tonight to give it a first proper wearing. This is a very special perfume. I am an admitted novice when it comes to eastern perfumery. I have very limited experience with attars and true eastern perfumery. That said, I will say that this rivals anything I have tried by ALD, Bortnikoff, Ensar Oud, and the like. My favorite in this style is probably Sultan Leather Attar. This rivals that in richness and complex progression. What makes this stand out to me is a great salty, seashore vibe from I assume a lot of high-quality ambergris. Truly unique olfactory experience. Bravo D&Z.

I have been wearing Rising Mysore like it is going out of style lately, but I will only be pulling this one out for those occasions when I know I will have the time and solitude to properly enjoy it.

I’m not sure. I hope they do. Or at least create another run like ALD has done with some of their fragrances.

This sounds incredible! Lots of people are surely sad they missed out(me included but I am pretty broke).

I picked up Ataj Noir and it came in the mail today. It opens with a slightly floral, dried fruit filled resin on a bed of creamy benzoin and vanilla. The benzoin is a tad medicinal and creates this insanely lucid incense opening with a short but powerful blast of Smokey frankincense. The whole attar is backed by an animalic Hindi Oud which comprises the heart before settling onto a resinous Mysore sandalwood/vanilla dry down.

If you ever smelled Kings Aroma from Shoyeido’s premium incense line, this is basically it in attar format. The whole fragrance is like bottled up resinous smoke in a temple that’s been burning Oud for hundreds of years.

Every offering so far has been a total win in my eyes. Get on this house while you still can. Rising Mysore is still available through Zikander from what I saw the other day.
