Question: How does Feel Oud compare with Agar Aura as far as style and quality? Similar ballpark?

Feel Oud is more old school oud (soaking) while Agar Aura is more modern distillation techniques (gen 3), quite different styles but both great value for money noting that you get what you pay for with these 2 distillers (ie the higher the grade of oud used the higher the price), very honest. There are some great utube videos from both these guys.

In most cases I’d spend my money on Agar Aura before ALD. Both are quality, but AA is even more top notch imo. Congrats on the Agar Attar!

Thanks, I definitely agree with you on the quality of AA. Thought about waiting until Thursday to purchase Kelantan but I've really wanted Agar Attar for quite some time and decided not to put it off any longer. What a fantastic house, I have Oud Lubani and find it to be wonderful.

I’ve been debating on getting either Kelantan or Khashab when they’re released in a couple days, think I might be leaning Khashab just because it’s more different from the ones I have so far. Would love to get both, but $800+ is just too much at the moment :( That will put my collection at....

Agar Parisien
Khmer Kinam
Khashab

Thanks, I’ll definitely have to get on YouTube for some of those video reviews!

Awesome thanks! I’ve been eyeballing Feel Oud for some time now. I’d like to try their Mysore as well.

I have been comparing Kalentan to KK today, I find KK more resinous, thicker, smokier with fruity strawberry milk like sweetness. Kalentan on the other hand has that smooth woody note and with vanillic sweetness and a prominent cola note. I believe that both share a similar DNA which makes Kalentan redundant to me (maybe all the oud-based fragrances have the same DNA?). KK is more complex to my nose and Kalentan is easier to like and wear.

Doing the same comparison today too, also because I wondered if having Kelantan was gonna have too much dna like KK, but side by side I find them different enough and want to get Kelantan as well as Khashab. Problem is, I can only afford one more than likely, ugh

First impressions of the new sample set:
Kelantan - I get the cola opening people are talking about; the main sequence is smoky, not unlike a lot of "smoked bbq" vetivers I've tried.

Khashab - A mix of sweet woods, dry woods, turpinic woods. Always with the AA DNA / style that all of the parfums have had.

WTF IS THIS!?!! Did Taha create a synthetic to add to his ouds? I’m confused...

Edit: since it’s unreadable...

1.5ml worth $15 million.
Folks, this here is THE most profound, true-to-oud, non-oud juice in the world. This will be added to the actual oud oils, for making Agar Attar.
Granted, Kinam Attar captures the aroma of Kinam freakishly accurately, and Kinam > non-Kinam Oud.
But the big houses don’t know about kinam; they know about oud. And it baffles me how I, on my own, managed to capture the aroma of the ‘universal oud’ scent, when huge houses with massive R&D expenditures could not (sorry Tom Ford, MFK, et al, you have all failed miserably. Sue me. It’s true).
I wonder if I should sell this formula to them nahhhhhhh, I’m gonna share my baby with YOU guys, in the upcoming Agar Attar.

EDIT: Clarified on Instagram that these are AA’s own essential oil recipes used in his compositions...not synthetics. Just oils to enhance the Oud characteristics.

He doesn't say its synthetic just non-oud.
From the website "Our extrait sprays consist of oud and other 100% botanically-derived aromatic oils"

Nothing in that post even implies it's synthetic. It just says non oud..... it could be any combo of natural materials that smells like oud but lasts / projects/ whatever...

I’d go out on a limb and say it’s DEFINITELY NOT SYNTHETIC. I think he uses a mixture a bee propolis, camphor and some type of smoke distillation to bolster all the most popular facets of Oud in his sprays. Not synthetic and yet not Oud.
