Is there a list of aroma chemicals with some basic info? I make notes when I come across something, but it would be nice to have a list.
Note (top, middle/heart, base)
Usable Dilution (0.1,1,10% etc)
Best solvent (ethanol, DPG, TEC, IPM, BA, etc)
Common composition range % (trace, 0.1-5%, max 20%, etc)
Chemical family (alcohols, aldehydes, ketones, salcylates, etc). I'm really keen to learn more about the families specifically.
The IFRA transparency list is a good starting point, with CSS numbers and chemical names. It also has coding info for material type and processing method for naturals.
Perfume and Flavor Chemicals by Steffen Arctander has a lot of great info on scent, production and typical accompaniments. It doesn't clearly give typical percent ranges for perfume use, and most of the info on solubility is very general.
