Hello all!
This forum is designed to help with information and education about ingredients used in perfumery. The forum was previously known as "Note Pad: Single Note Exploration", which started as the result of a The Note Identification Project by @purplebird7. This was a project where various perfume ingredients were tried individually and remarked upon by Basenotes members. Shortly afterwards the thread became unwieldly, and with some good work by @Asha, the thread was split into different notes, to make it easier to reference.
Sometimes there is a lot of useful information in these threads, that can get lost and overlooked. I've made this forum a "WikiPost" forum. This is essentially the same as a normal forum, but the first post is editable by anyone with the appropriate permission. (You can tell if you have permissions as you'd be able to edit the first post)
This way the information has the possibility to stay up-to-date and relevant.
A few notes:
This is an experiments, so let's see how it goes - any questions, please ask in this thread here
(If you would like permission to edit the Wiki's but you haven't been given it, please feel free to message me)
Update September 2022: If you wish to make a wiki reference page for an ingredient, you can do so here.

A few notes:
I've made a sample of what can be done here, if you want to have a look. Please regard Copyright and don't just copy and paste from other websites - if there is a useful website, feel free to link to itPlease keep the threads for discussion of the ingredients, not the Wiki entry. If you want to discuss something about Wiki things, feel free to do it in this thread here.If you make a change to a Wiki, there is a box to provide a summary of the changes you have made, and all edits are kept, so we can roll back in case of things like vandalismWith regards to the above, anyone abusing the system will have their wiki priviledges taken away
