Three new perfumes from London perfumer, Ormonde Jayne: Babylonia, Formosa and Gatsby 22

London-based perfumer has recently launched three new perfumes: Gatsby 22 – Inspired by founder, Linda Pilkington's favourite novel The Great Gatsby; Babylonia, which is part of the Route de la Soie collection; and Formosa, which is exclusive to Noseway in Taiwan.

Formosa (pictured above) is a limited edition scent joining the Four Corners of the Earth collection and is exclusively available in Taiwan at Noseway. The Portuguese named Taiwan, Formosa, meaning "beautiful" - The perfume opens with an effervescent arrangement of cedrat, bergamot, blackcurrant and cardomon, and an infusion of osmanthus-scented green tea giving Formosa a "sense of serenity and a touch of impeccable class."

Babylonia joins the Route de la Soie collection – which takes its inspiration from the Silk Road. The scent is described as "The ultimate in soft powdery perfume with facets of soft iris and violets." Additional notes include blackcurrant, pink pepper, davana, bergamot, soft musk, sweet resins, vanilla and praline.

Gatsby 22

Described as "confident, edgy and sophisticated. A boisterous burst of Sicilian lemon and bergamot penetrates the senses, followed by osmanthus, orange blossom and violets to smooth away the sharpness. Notes of vetiver linger on, giving Gatsby 22 true staying power."

Of the three, Gatsby sounds the most pleasant to me according to the notes and wouldn't mind giving this one a try.
