In February, Hermès will launch a new duo in their cologne series: Eau de Néroli Doré, created by Jean-Claude Ellena, and Eau de Rhubarbe Écarlate, created by Christine Nagel – her first fragrance for the company since joining them in 2014.

Eau de Néroli Doré

Eau de néroli doré is Jean-Claude Ellena's fifth creation in the Cologne family.

“When I started out in the profession of perfumer,” says Jean-Claude Ellena, “I learned to distil raw materials, including orange blossom. When you enter the world of stills, you are also immersed in a scent, impregnated with it, you become it.

My entire being was fragranced with orange blossom. To reproduce this sensation, where normally one uses very little neroli in fragrances, I used it abundantly, with abandon, as never before.”

Ellena has added saffron to the neroli “to pay tribute to his cherished Mediterranean, to its history, its sunshine and its spices”.

Eau de Rhubarbe Écarlate

Eau de Rhubarbe Écarlate is Christine Nagel's first fragrance for Hermès.

“When you work with rhubarb stalks,” explains Christine Nagel, “when you reproduce simple, age-old gestures, the scent bursts forth. I have always liked the duality of rhubarb. It is a two-fold duality, both visual and olfactory. Its green colour metamorphoses into red. From acidic and crisp, its scent becomes smooth and velvety.”

Both fragrances are available as:

  • Bottle and spray 200 ml
  • Spray 100 ml
  • Travel spray 15 ml (choice of four in a gift box)
  • Hydrating face and body balm 200 ml
  • Hair and body shower gel 200 ml
  • Hair and body shower gel 80 ml
  • Hand and body foaming gel 300 ml
  • Fragranced soap 100 g (choice of three in a gift box)

Nagel's first major fragrance for the brand is expected to launch in the Summer.
